BUDGET
The Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and
Youth has been tasked with leading the national response to the
unfolding humanitarian crisis and the corresponding welcome to
Ukrainian people forced to flee their homes. At both local and
national government level in Ireland provisions are being made
available to give Ukrainians access to state sponsored services.
The City and County Childcare Committees are requested by the
Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth,
to act as county level leads in supporting access to early learning
and care provision for Ukrainian children and their families. This
should remain the focus of the CCCs work.
JOB SPECIFICATION
PART TIME INTEGRATION DEVELOPMENT WORKER
ROLE OF THE WORKER
* Co-ordinate Stay and Play sessions in longer-term accommodation
centres or in other suitable community based locations including FRCs
or libraries.
* Represent the sector and its response at Community Response Fora.
* Prioritise the identification of ECCE places and match to
children.
* Support the development of additional ECCE places to meet
capacity.
* Identify qualified Ukrainian ELC staff and encourage their
participation in the workforce.
* Signpost parents to supports including NCS as they become
available.
* Support access to AIM, SAC and Childminding as appropriate.
* Signpost Early Years Educators to resources as they become
available.
* Support inclusion through our Parent & Toddler networks , develop
new groups where required.
* Inform the DCEDIY of challenges and achievements.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Excellent communication skills/ability to deal with people
* Proven organisational skills & ability to prioritise workload
* Ability to work on own initiative
* Ability to work with sensitive & confidential information
* Ability to work flexible hours and evening from time to time
* High standard of written and spoken English
* Excellent knowledge and experience (min. 2 yrs) of
administrative/clerical procedures and computer applications including
MS Word, Excel, Access & Power Point, managing files and records, use
of Dictaphone, preparing reports and other office procedures.
DESIRABLE:
A relevant qualification Childcare / Social Care / Community
Development ect at HETAC Level 7 or equivalent .
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
The successful candidate must be a good communication skills, have the
ability to manage their own workload and implement and report on
Action Projects.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: Local Authority Grade 5
